Mamelodi Sundowns competes at the highest level of South African football and stands among the continent’s defining clubs. Its identity lives beyond trophies: in an expressive way of playing, in the community that carries the badge and in the belief that progress never stops.
The club is known as “The Brazilians”, a name inspired by the bright yellow, blue and green colours that echo Brazil’s national team. Supporters also know the team as Bafana ba Style — the boys with style.

Technical command / Chloorkop
Head Coach Miguel Cardoso leads a multidisciplinary technical group shaped for domestic control and continental competition. Cardoso arrived in December 2024 after coaching across Portugal, Spain, France, Greece and Ukraine, and after reaching the CAF Champions League final with Espérance.
Senior Coach Steve Komphela provides deep South African experience and cultural continuity. Assistant Coach Fábio Fernandes adds elite continental preparation; Pedro Azevedo, João Araújo and Kennedy Mweene complete a staff designed around detail, trust and repeatable performance.
The standard set in the boardroom and refined on the training ground is the same one carried onto the pitch: clarity, courage and a champion's responsibility to improve.
